Split The List - Teamwork At Home In a Global Pandemic

Indian women do 10 times more unpaid care work than men and the COVID pandemic made this much worse. Unpaid work burden on women increased at least an estimated 30%. As schools closed, domestic staff is unavailable, and the elderly are more vulnerable, extra attention is demanded at home – both towards daily chores and caregiving. 


Dalberg, building on their research on time poverty globally, wanted to make the case for a more equal and intentional distribution of unpaid work. Thought Over Design worked on this video to inspire men to shoulder their share of responsibility, give women the confidence to ask men to do their part and collectively #SplitTheList.

Dalberg Asia Residency

We worked with Dalberg India to create this video to introduce the Dalberg Asia Residency to individuals with backgrounds in Research Design, Modeling and quantitative analysis, Policy and Advocacy and grassroots experiences. A collage style was developed to bring forth the storytelling aspects of experiences narrated by consultants from the program.
